Glyn Edwards (Devadasa) was born in Liverpool, and has been a working medium for more than 30 years,
and is internationally regarded as one of the UK’s finest mediums and lecturers on spiritual and psychic empowerment.
He joined a Benedictine community at 16, which intensified his mediumistic abilities and led him back into the word. He worked
with the renowned medium Gordon Higginson on a variety of projects over many years and has travelled extensively, speaking,
lecturing demonstrating and running workshops worldwide. Glyn owes much of his early work to Jean Matheson, a longtime friend and organiser of numerous spiritualist events in the North of
England. She also sat for him in a highly productive development circle and helped him to gain confidence in his abilities.
He has broad knowledge of various spiritual paths, and frequently invites revered teachers form related disciplines – such
as the yoga master and close-friend Swami Dhamananda Saraswati Maharaj- to share their discoveries and work with students on
his courses.
Glyn is particularly known for the quality of his mediumship and his ability to demonstrate it almost effortlessly in front of
large audiences. His also respected for his understanding of and insight into different areas of mediumistic unfoldment and his
devotion to helping students explore and realise their individual potential.
His is a regular senior course tutor at Arthur Findlay College in Essex (a college for the study and advancement of psychic
science). He has also worked at the Society for Psychical Research and at the spiritualist Association of Great Britain. He
holds a certificate of the Spiritualsits’ National Union, was profiled in the book ‘The Best of British’
and has been involved with the research of PRISM (Psychical Research Involving Selected Mediums).
Glyn as also been interviewed on television and radio (in both the UK and abroad), recorded several tapes and recently
released a double CD of one of his most popular practices, Sitting in the Power. He has dictated numerous articles on
spiritual and mediumistic matters, and co-authored two highly praised development manuals with the religious studies
teacher and ex-Punk Rock bassist of The Wasps, Santoshan (Stephen Wollaston): Tune in to your Spiritual Potential and
Unleash your Spiritual Power and Grow (published by Foulsham/Quantum Books).
In 2003 he made the front page of Psychic News after being struck-down by a mysterious virus. Since then, he has shown how
determination and the power of the Spirit can overcome adversity. Remarkably, many have testified to his mediumship and
teaching moving to a deeper level, and he found this chapter in his life opening up many profound insights and experiences.
Recently, Glyn has been involved in the formation of a new fellowship and been highly praised in a new book about mediums.
Additionally, Glyn has become increasingly drawn to the teachings and great masters of the East- although Indian and Yogic
wisdom have always been a source of nourishment for him – particularly the Dalai Lama, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo
and on the his prime exponents, M P Pandit, with whom he once had a private audience in Pondicherry.
Swami Dharmananda whose main guru was Trivadi Ramachandra (one-time secretary to Mahatma Gandhi), has also become a great
source of wisdom and help in Glyn’s spiritual life and search, and officially gave him the yoga name Devadasa
(servant of God). As well as being initiated into her tradition and given various practices, he has also undertaken
instruction form the renowned Tantric master Sri Jammu Maharaj, who he frequently saw until 2004 (the year of
Sri Jammu’s passing) with co-author Santoshan and Swamiji.
